TheKickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma’s original reservation boundaries of services are starting where the Deep Fork river intersects with the Indian Meridian (NW) preceding east along the Deep Fork river to state Hwy 18, then south on Hwy 18 to north of the City of Shawnee, then west to Kickapoo Street in Shawnee. Then south on Kickapoo Street to the North Canadian River (now known as the Oklahoma River), then west along the river to the Indian Meridian and back north to the beginning.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma Social Services Department is to maximize the quality of life of all Kickapoo Tribal members and Native Americans residing within the Kickapoo Tribal Jurisdiction and to work in partnership among other tribal programs and federal agencies to reduce inequalities, improve well-being, promote individual independence and enrich Native Americans’ lives through learning and tribal culture.

The Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma Social Services Department is committed to providing leadership in identifying unmet needs and working to provide appropriate programs and services, and dedicated to the delivery of services in a professional manner that respects the dignity of all Native Americans we serve.

The KTO Services Programs provides the following:

· TRIBAL Living ASSISTANCE

· LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (L.I.H.E.A.P.) Nov. (winter) june (summer)

· FEDERAL General Assistance AND Burial assistance

· Adult Protective Services

· Supervised IIM Accounts

· Clothes Closet

· School Clothing Allowance Program (August to september 30)

· Infant Layette Program

· Referrals to outside organizations
