Court and Prevention Services
ICW attends court proceeding when children have been removed from their home due to issues of abuse and neglect. ICW provides services or refers the family to services that best meets the needs of the family. Such services are individual and family counseling, parenting programs, substance abuse services and domestic violence counseling. ICW will monitor cases that are state involved. ICW will refer families to services to try to prevent the removal of children from their homes. In accessing these services families agree to work with ICW on several steps that can help improve their current situation. Each services provided are based on the needs of the family.

Foster Care
ICW certifies homes to become foster care placement of children who have been removed from their homes due to court involved matters. Foster homes can be single, married, men or women who are able to provide a safe stable home for a child. Foster parents must be able to pass a background check, financially meet their own needs, and are able to provide a loving environment for a child.

Adoption

There are times when reunification does not occur. ICW's first step is searching out family who would be able to keep the children within the family. If there is no family available then we search into tribal approved foster homes to adopt. The requirements of being an adoptive home has the same requirements as that of foster family. Every child needs a forever home.
